d. Do you like the old woman? Why?

=> Answer: No, I do not like the old woman because she is never satisfied with what she receives and continually demands something greater. Her excessive greed ultimately creates disastrous consequences and shows how dissatisfaction can destroy the happiness one already possesses.

e. What lesson did you learn from this story?

=> Answer: The story shows that greed and endless desire can bring about a person's downfall. The old couple kept seeking greater rewards instead of remaining satisfied with their blessings, and eventually they lost everything the lime tree had provided. Thus, the story encourages us to value what we have, remain content, and avoid allowing greed to control our decisions.

f. What would you do if you were the old woman? Discuss.

Ans:

If I were the old woman, I would have been satisfied with the gifts provided by the lime tree. I would have valued the horse and cart, the new hut, and the animals instead of continually demanding additional rewards.

I would have enjoyed the comfortable life we had gained and remained thankful for our good fortune. I would also have understood that unlimited desires can turn happiness into misery. Since the old woman's repeated demands eventually caused everything to disappear, I would have chosen gratitude and contentment rather than asking for more.
